How to Test your Award Before it Opens

It is important that admin users take time to thoroughly test awards before opening for entry. Awards are best tested via the entrant interface but opening the award to create test entries introduces the risk that an entrant may find the form and try to enter prematurely. To prevent this from happening, you can safely test the award by issuing Creating a New entry for yourself and members of your Admin team. A new unsubmitted entry will be created in your account enabling access to the entry form. You will need to log into your entrant account and edit the entry from the Dashboard and the Submission date on the Awards set-up page must be set in the future otherwise it will not be possible to submit the entry. In addition, please also make sure to set a number >0 in the “Show entries for” field, on the Award settings page.

How to Create a New Test Entry

  1. Login into the Admin Interface
  2. Go to Actions > Organisations
  3. In the Name column, search for the organisation you wish to update – ie. search for your Organisation name if you are testing the award yourself
  4. Select Edit under the Actions column
  5. Scroll down to the Create new entries section
  6. Select the relevant Award
  7. Set the number of new entries you wish to create
  8. Select the Recipient within the organisation in whose account the entries will be created
  9. Click Create new Entries
  10. The number of entries specified will be created within the account and the organisation/createEntries email template will be send to the user

Note – admin users will need to create an entrant user organisation to issue the entries to enable testing.
