How to Edit the CMS

All text in Nucleus can be customised by Admin users through the CMS (Content Management System). Admins can search for and update text instantly via the Admin Interface.

When BAFTA Nucleus is first delivered, all CMS fields contain default text. This can then be edited to suit the intended audience for each project. When setting up a new project, Admin users should take time to review both the Entrant Interface and the Viewer Interface, checking that the wording is appropriate and making updates where necessary.

How to Edit the CMS (via the Admin Interface)

  1. Log into the Admin Interface.
  2. Go to CMS.

The CMS screen displays a table with two main columns:

  • Label – the default identifiers for each CMS field.
  • Content – the text currently associated with each label.
  1. To search for specific labels, use the search bar at the top of the table. Any CMS entries containing the keyword will be displayed.
  2. From the Actions menu on the right-hand side of the relevant label, select Edit.
  3. Update the text in the Content field.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Return to the front-end website and refresh the page to see the updated text.

Note:
There are two types of CMS fields:

  • Some fields (for example, button labels) allow text-only changes.
  • Most fields use a WYSIWYG editor, allowing you to format text, add images, insert links, or edit the HTML directly if required.

How to Edit the CMS Live Using Admin Preview

Admin Preview allows Admin users to edit CMS content directly from the front end of the site. This provides a more visual, in-context way of updating text.

Important:

  • Admin Preview is only available for awards that are active and open.
  • It is not available for closed awards.

Steps

  1. Log into the Admin Interface.
  2. Navigate to Your Award.
  3. Go to the Form Setup page.
  4. In the top right-hand corner, locate the Actions button (three dots), positioned between the Back and Add buttons.
  5. Click the Actions button and select Admin Preview from the dropdown.
  6. You will be taken to the award form.
  7. Use the main menu to navigate to the page you wish to edit (for example: Dashboard, Create Entry, Invoices).
  8. An Edit CMS button will appear next to the menu button.
  9. Click Edit CMS to enable live editing on the page. The CMS fields will become editable directly within the interface.

Saving or Cancelling Changes

While editing, you have two options:

  • Cancel Updating CMS
    • Exits CMS editing mode and discards any changes made during that session.
  • Update CMS
    • Saves all edits and applies them immediately to the site.

This approach is particularly useful when you want to see wording changes in context, rather than locating fields manually in the CMS list.
