How to Disable an Automatic Email Template

Nucleus comes with a range of email templates that are automatically triggered by key processes – such as entry submission, entry approval, entry unsubmission etc. These email templates come with default body content and subjects, but it is your responsibility to customise and update these according to your award or funding programme.

However, there may be certain circumstances in which you do not want an email to be automatically sent to entrants. For example, if you do not want them to know that their entry has been approved for progression.
In Nucleus, there are certain presets in the Awards settings page that can control this. For instance, in the case above, you can prevent these Approval emails being sent by switching the Send emails on Entry Approval setting to No.

For all other circumstances, there is a blanket way to disable a particular email template from the Misc section of the Admin Interface.

How to Disable an Automatic Email Template from Misc

  1. Log into the Admin Interface
  2. Go to Actions>Misc
  3. Select Email Templates under the Email Management section
  4. Your Email Template List opens. Find the email you want to disable and click Default
  5. The Edit Existing Email Template page opens. Switch the Enabled field to No
  6. Click Save and Close
  7. The Template will now be flagged as (Disabled) on your Email Template list

Note – Email Templates are also disabled if they have no Subject. The system will not let you send an email without a Subject. So, even if your Template is Enabled, it will not send if there is no Subject.
