New Features And Improvements
SITE-WIDE
New WYSIWIG Editor
We are about to install a new WYSIWYG (‘What You See Is What You Get’) text editor on Nucleus, to replace the existing one. The WYSIWYG Editor appears on the Admin site of Nucleus wherever you are required to enter free text – such as in the Messages and Invoice Header/Footer panels on the Set-Up page, in the Commentarty and Divider Questions , the CMS, Email Templates and more. The new WYSIWYG Editor will be seamlessly rolled-out to your Nucleus instance on Monday 8th March and will be available to use immediately.
DASHBOARD DATA
Unsubmitted Entries now show on the Dashboard’s Category Count
To give Admins a working idea of the number of entries they might expect in each Category while their Submission window is open, we have upgraded the information that it shown on the Dashboard. The Categories breakdown will now also display the currently Unsubmitted entries, alongside those which are already Submitted and/or Approved.
This vital addition will enable Admins to identify any particular Categories that are lagging behind in entries, and possibly utilise the Entrant Mailout functionality to isolate and encourage completed submissions from those that are currently unsubmitted.
VIEWING PROCESSES
Viewing Portal Intro Text options
This is the intro text which appears in each Category in the Viewing site – which was previously infringing on the content viewing pane and inconveniencing Viewers, especially if the intro text was quite lengthy. To enable you to manage this, we have now added a new option in the Categories section where you enter this text.If you look there now you will see there are now two options, where there was previously just one:Viewing portal intro (full)Viewing portal intro (floated summary)
Viewing portal intro (full) – is the section to enter your full length intro. This can be as long as you require, but once you scroll to the bottom of it your content viewing pane will become the priority area of the screen and give you the maximum available space to view the content. If you need to view the full intro again once you have got the the content viewing pane, simply scroll back up to the top of the page.
Viewing portal intro (floated summary) – this section now acts in the same way as the previous intro text did ie. it will be the dominant area of the screen and will display in full at all times even as you scroll down to the content viewing pane. Although the ‘full’ option above will remove the infringement issue, you may also find some use of the floated summary too. For example, if you have a very short piece of must-see-at-all-times text or instruction you want the viewer to be aware of as they are scrolling through the content ie. PLEASE VIEW AND SCORE ALL ENTRIES BEFORE SUBMITTING, OTHERWISE YOUR VOTES WILL NOT BE COUNTED. The key is to keep this Floated Summary brief (1-2 lines max), if you choose to use it at all. Think of it as a ‘reminder’ to summarise the info given at length in the Full intro.
Viewer Score Download Total column
The Viewer Score Download functionality (where you export all of your Viewer scores into a spreadsheet) now has a tally functionality where it automatically adds together all of the submitted scores for an entry into a column marked Total, allowing for ease of comparison between entries.
Add Questions to the Viewer Score Download
You can now customise the Viewer Score Download report to include the answer to any question on your form, in addition to the default info and scoring/commenting info. This is controlled by a new option on the Question settings. To activate it for any question:
-Go to Actions > Question List-Find the required question, and click Actions > Edit
-On the Question edit page, scroll down to the Options section and in the field Title for viewer score download enter the title you want to appear as a column header on the report
-Click Save and Close
BULK EMAIL FUNCTIONS
Edit a scheduled Entrant Mailout email job once created
Previously, once a bulk email job had been created and scheduled in Entrant Mailout the only way it could be changed was to Delete the project and start again. We have now added an Edit function to scheduled email jobs that have not yet progressed to the Email Queue, which enables you to adjust any of its selected settings (such as recipients, relevant categories, date/time, BCCs etc).To use this Edit function on any particular scheduled email job:
-Go to Actions > Misc
-Select Email Log/Queue
-Find your scheduled email job on the Email Management page. Hint: All scheduled email jobs that have not yet been added to the Email Queue appear ABOVE the Email Queue
-Click on the Edit button alongside the jobYou will then be taken through the set up pages of that job. Amend the settings as you require and click Save when you are done

The email job will remain in the schedule, with the new settings applied.
NB: This Edit function is available any time up until 1 HOUR BEFORE the scheduled release time, at which point the job is added to the Email Queue whereupon Deletion is the only option available.
Disable email templates without removing the Subject line
Previously the only way to disable an email that is hard-coded to be automatically triggered by a specific action – for example, the entry/Approve template being triggered by an entry being Approved – is to pre-emptively delete the Subject line for that template. This was a reliable method, but also a little inconvenient if you wanted to use that email template again in future with the same Subject – as it required you to keep a note of it.We have now added a dedicated ‘Enabled’ option in each email template. This is positioned as the first option on each template. Switch to ‘Yes’ for the template to be automatically triggered as normal, or ‘No’ for it to be disabled.
New status type added to Mail Queue: Mailgun Fail
We have added the ‘Mailgun Fail’ as a Status the list of emails that appear on the Mail Queue. In the rare event of an email failing to send, the status will enable you to distinguish between the cause being something local within Nucleus – such as using an incorrect or incomplete email address – or a broader external failure caused by our Mailgun supplier. You can check on this by the following steps:
-Go to Actions Misc
-Select Email Log/Queue
-From the Email Management log, check the Status column. You can filter for emails that have failed for this reason by selecting Mailgun Fail in the Status dropdown
If you find an email with this status, please raise a Support Ticket to bring it to the attention of the BMT Support Team.
ENTRIES / INVOICES PROCESSES
Invoice Preview on Submission Screen
For Nucleus administrators who prefer to encourage their entrants to pay their invoices immediately after submission – rather than leave them open an unpaid in case they wish to make additional entries at a later date – we have added an Invoice Preview on the screen that appears immediately after each entry is submitted.
This preview features buttons to Continue to paymentReturn to dashboard or Create a new entry beneath. The purpose of this functionality is to strike a balance – encouraging those entrants who intend to pay immediately to do so by showing them the current balance they owe and including a very visible option to complete their transaction, while also giving them the option to make further entries or pay later if that suits them. Administrators who prefer their entrants to pay immediately can customise the invoice preview footer CMS text seen above to include that instruction.
Current Compatabilities
With the increasing number of operating systems, browsers and their extenuatuing versions across the digital landscape, its important to keep a tab on compatability. As a valued customer of BAFTA Media Tech (BMT), please be assured that we strive to keep in step with such developments to ensure continued and equal access to Nucleus for all of your entrants and users. In the unusual instance that a user informs you they are unable to use the platform, you should then check whether their system or browser complies with this list and advise them to update where necessary. The following list is accurate as of November 2020.
